Description

A beautiful one bedroom apartment for sale in this sought after location on historic Craven Street.

This bright and spacious apartment is well proportioned with a generous reception room and separate modern fully fitted kitchen with dining area. The good size double bedroom benefits from fitted wardrobes and has access to a large separate tiled luxurious modern bathroom. The property is finished to an exceptionally high standard with lift access and would make an ideal pied-a-terre or charming central London home for anyone working in the West End or City.

After the death of the Earl of Craven, his property descended in a collateral line in 1697 to William, 5th Earl of Craven. William Craven eventually decided that his Strand property was ripe for development, and after raising some capital by mortgaging the ground, then proceeded to pull down the houses in Spur Alley and Brewer’s Lane. The greater part of the ground on either side of Spur Alley was afterwards known as Craven Street. Houses were erected on Craven Street, the ground at the southern end being used as a wharf, the Thames came up much closer to Craven Street in the 18th century than it does today.

Craven Street is among the most coveted addresses in the West End and perfectly positioned on the edge of the idyllic Victoria Embankment Gardens whist still being less than a ten minute walk from the vibrancy of Covent Garden, Piccadilly and Soho. The surrounding areas boast world renowned restaurants, popular eateries and watering holes, famous theatres and boutique shops. There are excellent transport links with Charing Cross (0.1 miles), Embankment (0.2 miles) and Leicester Square (0.4 miles) all within close walking distance and numerous bus routes from the Strand.

One bedroom, one bathroom, separate kitchen, quiet central location, lift access, well presented.

Approximately 50 sq m (543 sq ft). EPC Rating C.
