""Andy and I bought 36 Homecroft Road 13 years ago. We'd moved from North London and didn't know the area, but loved the light and size of the house, and that so many original features remained. We renovated it room by room, insulating and building in storage as we went. We are sociable people and wanted a comfortable and cosy house where lots of people could comfortably stay over. 13 years on and we now have 2 children. The open plan works brilliantly for our young family - they have space to throw themselves around, and we are able to see and be with them. The area has changed a lot in that time - with new pubs and cafes emerging all the time. We are spoiled for choice. There are lots of lovely parks for us and the kids too. Homecroft Road itself is a wonderful community-orientated street - a mixture of younger families and older residents from lots of different backgrounds. We love the diversity. We have a facebook group where people regularly ask for and/ or offer help. We have a green project, which retains beautiful planters. And last year we had a fantastic street party, which is now established as an annual event".
