Ringwood is a stunning modern detached house built in about 2010, located on the extreme outskirts of the pretty mid Devon village of Poughill, adjoining open farmland and enjoying the fabulous panoramic views across rolling Devonshire countryside, with the hills of Dartmoor in the far distance. The house is located off a quiet single track lane which only serves a handful of other properties well away from main roads, and is within easy walking distance of the village centre.
Poughill is a picturesque Devon village situated approximately 9.6 miles from Exeter and midway between Crediton and Tiverton, all of which can be reached by road within 20 minutes. The village has an historic parish church, active village hall and is located along a high ridge enjoying stunning distant views to Dartmoor and surrounding hills. The property falls within the 10 mile Blundell's School catchment.
The house is spotlessly presented with a tasteful décor throughout and spacious rooms well designed around a large central hallway. All doors are in a period ledge & brace style, and skirtings and architraves are natural wood. The living room has a large inglenook style open fireplace in brick with heavy timber lintel and contemporary style woodburner, and a door at the rear leads into a study. Off the hallway is a cloakroom with wc and wash hand basin, plus a separate dining room. The kitchen is superbly fitted with extensive wood fronted units with spacious working surfaces, and inset stainless steel sink, space for large upright fridge/freezer, integrated dishwasher and stainless steel range style cooker with stainless hood over. Tri-folding doors open up to the outside which is a lovely touch. At the rear of the kitchen is a utility room which has a double base unit, working top over with inset sink, spaces for automatic washing machine and tumble drier, a floor standing oil fired central heating boiler, and the inverter for the solar pv roof panels.
On the first floor, a very spacious galleried landing gives access to all the bedrooms. The master bedroom has a walk-through dressing area, and an en-suite shower room fitted with a pedestal basin, shower enclosure, and low level wc. The family bathroom contains a bath, separate shower enclosure, pedestal basin, and low level wc.
The entire property extends to about 2.19 acres (0.89ha) in all. A wide driveway leads in through twin timber 5 bar gates, sweeping around to the side and front of the house and providing huge amounts of parking for numerous vehicles (plus space for caravan, trailers, horseboxes etc). There are well maintained lawns to the front, a large well stocked gravelled shrub/flower bed at the side, raised veg/soft fruit beds, and timber children’s swing. At the rear is an oil storage tank, and planted bank with low maintenance shrubs. There is also a second useful access from the lane to a hardcored driveway.
A modern timber built stable block with concrete forecourt, timber fencing, and wide 5 bar gate, containing:
