Ord House is a grade two listed property, that dates back to 1637. The property was originally built as the Lairds house for the Clan Mackenzie. It was then converted into a hotel around the mid 1970s. Ord House is a well run business that has been owned and operated by the current proprietors since 1987. Muir of Ord is a village in Highland, Scotland. It is situated near the western boundary of the Black Isle, about 14 miles west of the city of Inverness, and 6 miles south of Dingwall.
Ord House sits commandingly within its own extensive grounds a mile from the outskirts of the village.

The Property
Ord House is a traditionally built grade 2 listed detached property set over three floors which date to 1637. Set within approximately 30 acres of gardens, farmland and woodland the property was then extended in the 1800s. The main entrance is from the front which leads into a spacious hall. On the right of the entrance there is a guest drawing room with well filled bookshelves, a bay window seat and an open log fire. The hall is well presented benefitting from a log burner stove set within a traditional fireplace. The room is tastefully decorated with wooden paneling to the walls along with period features and furniture. Moving from the hall you will find a corridor that goes to the right and left. To the left is the reception, office, kitchen, service areas, owners accomodation including a sitting room with log burner and the west wing of the hotel which has 2 ground floor guest bedrooms and 2 first floor guest bedrooms - all ensuite and reached by their own staircase. There is also an additional staff bedroom on the ground floor. If one goes to the right from the hall there is a drying room for guests, ladies and gents toilets, guest tv room and the bar. Both the lounge and library give views to the front of the property overlooking the gardens.

From the reception hall there is a period staircase leading to the upper floors and all letting accommodations.

Also located on the first floor, you will find a large l-shaped dining room. This room is currently used as the restaurant as well as the breakfasting room for guests. The spacious room is well presented and offers an excellent area for dining, private functions and parties.

Letting Accommodation
There are 12 letting bedrooms, all which have en-suite facilities. The rooms are set over the first and second floor, with the exception of the Crawford room, which is located on the ground floor.
