“I came here in 2009 and started the bed and breakfast and holiday let business about a year later and it has proved to be very successful and could be continued by new owners. I fell in love with the views, the privacy and the business opportunity and have enjoyed extending the chalet bungalow and developing my business. However I feel that it is time to start a new chapter in my life and I have decided to retire. The area is very convenient as we are on a bus route between Folkestone and the city of Canterbury with its historic buildings, high street stores, myriad of pubs and restaurants, theatres and cinemas as well as two universities and a wide variety of private and state schools.

The village of Hawkinge is a charming and friendly place with plenty of activities. There is the well attended cricket and social club as well as a football club, four pubs including the White Horse that is virtually opposite the house and serves delicious food and the historic Cat and Custard Pot along with the Battle of Britain Museum. You will also find a number of takeaways, a restaurant and an enormous state-of-the-art Lidl for all your grocery shopping plus a dentist and doctor's surgery. There are stables in the village for anyone who enjoys riding and plenty of places to enjoy wonderful walks with the dog. As well as the regular bus service you can be on the M20 motorway in a minute for Ashford, Dover and London while Folkestone is close by so you can even pop over to France.
