Description

The Clock House was constructed in the late 1870’s as the coach house to the original Ribsden House estate which was owned at one point by Queen Victoria’s daughter Princess Louise, The Duchess of Argyll. The main house was destroyed by fire in the early 20th century but the coach house survived
and has been converted into a lovely family home.
The property is approached via a discreet gravelled driveway that leads up to wrought iron security gates which open into the grounds. The first view of the property is a particularly attractive one and really does set the scene. A high pitched roof line with steepled gables, clock tower, detailed brickwork, Gothic styled arched windows and front door make this one of the most interesting homes currently available in the area.
The charm and character continue inside this lovely family home with many of the original features having been retained such as high pitched and vaulted ceilings, open fireplaces and polished
wooden floors.
The kitchen/breakfast room provides a great ‘hub’ for family life. The drawing room, with working fireplace, is at the centre of the house adjoining the conservatory and to the side a loggia
flanked by two separate studies. There is a spacious dining/games room and next to it a downstairs cloakroom and shower.
Upstairs the configuration of the bedrooms is flexible: A principal bedroom with en-suite bathroom, two further double bedrooms with adjoining dressing rooms, then two more interconnecting bedrooms, a family bathroom and a third smaller bathroom. This works well for children of all ages and if required nannies/au pairs.
The grounds extend to over three quarters of an acre and surround the property with an attractive lawned area and beautiful Portuguese Laurel tree to the front and larger lawn to the rear which is backed by very mature rhododendrons and trees giving a great deal of seclusion. At the rear of the house there is a vegetable garden area and very useful storage sheds.

Situation
The property is situated off the road in a secluded position, just on the edge of Windlesham village, the property is conveniently located for access to the motorway network, with junction 3 of the M3 being about 2.6 miles away. This connects with the
M25 and provides good vehicular access to central London, Heathrow and the west country. The property is also only about 3 miles from Sunningdale station (and Waitrose super market),
Waterloo is about 50 minutes. Whilst there is a local shop, an off licence and butcher in the village, Sunningdale and Ascot offer more comprehensive selection, including coffee shops and restaurants. The Brickmakers Pub is less than a quarter of a mile away, is highly regarded and has a great restaurant as well.
Anyone with a sporting interest should enjoy this area. There are several world renowned golf courses including Wentworth, Sunningdale and Swinley, a choice of health and tennis clubs
including Penny Hill Park and David Lloyd Royal Berkshire Health and Racquets club. There is horse racing at Royal Ascot and Windsor, you could even try your hand at polo with several of the country’s top clubs being nearby. There is also the opportunity to walk out from the property and soon be on Chobham Common which has some beautiful views over surrounding countryside.
There is an excellent selection of both state and private schooling including, Coworth Flexlands, Hall Grove, Woodcote, Papplewick, St Mary’s School, St John’s Beaumont and the American Community School to name but a few. A little further away
Wellington and Eton Colleges provide excellent senior education.
