Holly Lodge is truly a luxury lodge, built only 5 years ago to exacting standards, detached and set in a most envious rural location.
With two double bedrooms comprising a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, and a second bedroom and bathroom, a vaulted open plan kitchen living dining room, utility area, two sets of double doors plus single doors opening onto the sunny surrounding timber deck with balustrade, an electric awning for protection from the sun, fabulous outlook over the communal recreational field, and breathtaking views just beyond off the hillside, this is one fabulous holiday retreat brimming with its own character.
Can you imagine it now - after a great lie-in you throw open the patio doors on a warm sunny morning and take in the peace and quiet only interrupted by birdsong, sitting outside to dine on your breakfast alfresco whilst overlooking what is effectively an enormous garden. Bliss!
For many years Betchworth Fort Park has retained its secret, where guests come to escape the hubbub and pressures of modern life, offering individual properties of many differing shapes. Over the course of time many of these properties are being updated and replaced to ensure that the park remains as a desirable place to live, at the highest point of Boxhill overlooking neighbouring counties from its private view point. The park owners are rightly very protective of their park and maintain meticulous standards and enforce the park rules in order to protect the peace and quiet, and the privacy and respectfulness of all their guests. More details on the park are available here -
Betchworth Fort Park is tucked away at the top of Boxhill and will only be found by those specifically looking for it, behind electric security gates and thereby offering a great degree of seclusion. Betchworth Fort itself was built during the 1890s as part of a comprehensive military scheme known as the London Defence Positions, drawn up in 1888 to protect the capital in the event of enemy invasion. More information can be found here -
This holiday home is also not far from world-class golf courses at Walton Heath and Kingswood as well as other local golf links, horse racing at Epsom Downs, Sandown Park and Kempton Park. Boxhill is famous for its cycling, and there are many National Trust properties nearby. Gatwick Airport can be reached by car within around half an hour, and planes taking off and landing at Gatwick can be watched from the top of the park. Heathrow is also accessible around the M25. For days out the South coast is easy to reach, and locally there are excellent restaurants and theatres and plenty of walks.
