Built in 1906, the property was formerly part of Berkeley Castle, Boars Hill. The original part of the house was designed for Lord Berkeley by the renowned architect, Sir Ernest George, to whom the celebrated architect Sir Edwin Lutyens was articled. Sir Ernest’s influence can be seen in many of Lutyens famous buildings in London and the provinces.

Boars Hill is a semi-rural residential area just four miles from Oxford with wonderful walks and some of the best views of the city and its spires. Local shopping is in Wootton and more comprehensive amenities in Oxford and Abingdon. Oxford is approximately four miles to the north east offering extensive recreational and internationally renowned cultural facilities as well as an excellent range of state and independent schools for all ages. The nearby arterial route of the A34 gives access to the M4 (Jct 13) to the south and the M40 (Jct 9) to the north. From Didcot there are regular train services to London Paddington in approximately forty five minutes. London Paddington and London Marylebone can be reached from Oxford Station and the more recently opened Oxford Parkway Station provides a fast service to Marylebone in 55 minutes. Drive time to London is approximately eighty minutes.
