Pull up the car in any one of the three spaces on the gravel drive immediately outside your own front door and step inside the shoes of by-gone days, enjoyed in the splendour and grandeur of this Victorian terraced home. You are immediately welcomed inside the spectacular hallway with a rather splendid solid wood ‘ramps and wreaths' staircase to guide you to the very top of the house.
The open sitting and dining areas boast original fittings such as feather plume ceiling roses and those essential period fireplaces as well as enjoying a sea view from the bay window. To the rear the kitchen is illuminated by a glazed roof window and you can venture outside the doors for some peace and quiet in the rear courtyard garden; the perfect place to take your breakfast! A separate utility room means you can close the door on noisy appliances and hide the ironing for another day.
To the first floor, two large double bedrooms offer the choice between that stunning sea view or your own en-suite shower room and a smaller single 6th bedroom would make the ideal study or dressing room.
A second staircase takes you to the top of the house where a glazed roof floods the staircase with natural light and three further double bedrooms can be found on this floor as well as a bathroom.
What the Owner says:
Having viewed numerous houses in and around Ventnor, we settled on this one as it offered the character we loved as well as the space for our large furniture and room for the family to come and visit often. We had every intention of making it a permanent move but circumstances change so it is now being offered to a new family to make it their forever home. The sea views were the main attraction but also being able to walk into town of an evening for a meal was a huge bonus.
The front terrace is a real communal area with the neighbours sitting outside and enjoying a glass or two into the warm summer evenings and the benefit of a separate garden over the road with a useful garage for storage has been a real handy extra.
