Melinbyrhedyn is a small hamlet located about 5 miles from the Historic town of Machynlleth and convenient to the Cardigan Bay Coastline. Rhydyfelin Methodist Chapel was built in 1812, rebuilt in 1856 and rebuilt again in 1888. The present chapel dated 1888 is built in the Vernacular and simple Gothic style of the gable entry type. It is built of stone under a slated roof.
