Approximately eight miles to the north east of Oxford, Charlton on Otmoor is one of seven historic villages surrounded by lovely countryside on the edge of Otmoor Nature Reserve with an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways. As well as being a site of specific scientific interest there is also a rspb reserve and the meadows and reed beds are a haven for ornithologists and botanist alike. Within the village is a well-regarded school, public house, football and cricket clubs, village hall and play group. There are good facilities at nearby Bicester and Kidlington and easy access to a number of main arterial roads and rail stations at Islip and Bicester giving access to Oxford, London Marylebone and London Paddington. The neighbouring village of Islip offers several pubs and a mainline station to Bicester and then onto Marylebone also. There is a bus service to and from Charlton on Otmoor to Oxford city with access to a wide range of schools including The Dragon, Summerfields, Magdalen College, St Edwards, Wychwood, Oxford High and Cherwell. The city centre and a vast array of facilities include theatres, museums, cinemas, shops and restaurants.
