Location:
The crofting township of East Gerinish is situated on the North East coast of South Uist. Eochar is located some 6 miles away and has a primary school, community hall which is the venue for local sales, dances and other community events. Further facilities, including various shops, post office, bank, restaurant, police station, hospital and primary school, are located in Balivanich in Benbecula, the neighbouring island, connected to South Uist by causeway. Balivanich is also home to the airport, which offers flights to both Glasgow and Stornoway. A secondary school, which also houses a community library and swimming pool is located at Liniclate, also on Benbecula.

Directions: From the main A865 take the turning signposted Loch A Charnan. Follow this road right to the very end where you will come to two properties. To the left of the properties there is track. You will need to follow this track on foot for approximately 1 mile to reach the crofts.
