Beautifully finished throughout, this is a very practical family home, offering flexibility in how you use the rooms. We immediately loved the peaceful location too, up a quiet private road lined with cherry blossom trees, with lots of off-road parking. We are just a short walk from the preschool, Lower and Middle schools and the pretty Georgian market square.”
This is the ideal all year-round family home, adapting to the changing of the seasons. “The living room has an exposed brick fireplace with log burner which is lovely in the colder months, ” say the owners, “making the whole of the downstairs cosy and warm. In the summer months, we spend a lot of time in the deceptively spacious wrap around garden, which is mostly laid to lawn with a large patio entertaining area and some pretty borders. A number of trees, including an apple tree, give the feel of a more mature garden and provide some shade on hot days. There is also space down the side of the house and garage to store garden furniture and logs for the burner.”
“Potton is a great place to live with lots going on for everyone, ” say the owners. “The pretty Georgian market square offers pubs, restaurants, a library, butchers, bakery, fish and chip shop, post office, hairdressers and beauty salon, florist, gift shop and more. There’s a wonderful sense of community here, especially during ‘Party on Potton, ’ a bi-annual event held on the August bank holiday weekend and run by a committee of local volunteers. There’s a carnival parade and lots of daytime activities and evening entertainment for all to enjoy over the three days. The church and library often host events and there are many groups to get involved with such as singing and drama, baby and toddler, sports, a fitness studio offering a variety of exercise classes, and various girl guide and scouting groups. There are two parks with play equipment, the main one with a newly refurbished skate park and a pretty brook running through, as well as local walks through woodland within easy reach of the house.”
