The nearby village of Bredon has a village shop and post office, church, two pubs, village hall, doctor's surgery and a good primary school.

The historic riverside towns of Tewkesbury and Pershore offer a wider range of everyday amenities, whilst Cheltenham has more facilities and excellent shopping.

The area has some excellent schools: Cheltenham Ladies College, Cheltenham College and Dean Close, The King's School and Royal Grammar School in Worcester, Malvern College and Malvern St James Girls school.

There are great transport links to the larger centres of Birmingham and Bristol via the M5 (J9) and to South Wales via the M50. There are excellent rail links to Oxford, Reading and London from Pershore and to the north or south west from Cheltenham or Ashchurch.
