Long Oaks Cottage is located in possibly the best hidden spot in Penmaen, South Gower, the fairy tale home is nestled at the foot of Cefn Bryn – also known as the back bone of Gower. Gower is an area of outstanding natural beauty and so you can imagine just how special the surroundings are of Long Oaks Cottage. You are surrounded by glorious Gower countryside, woodland and even have wonderful woolly neighbours of the sheep variety greeting you on your approach.

Long Oaks cottage is circa 1760 and is made up of a main three bedroom residence and a separate two bedroom self-contained annex which was added to the property in the early 1990’s

The Gower Hamlet of Penmaen is simply charming and is the gateway to the road which leads you across the moors, past woodland, some friendly sheep and then brings you to Long Oak Cottage. The cottage will not fail to impress you instantly with its quaint external charm and impressive surroundings.
There is ample parking for at least four cars and a double garage.

We enter the main cottage via a traditional stone porch and instantly the charm and uniqueness of the home washes over you. Throughout the home you will enjoy exposed stone, wooden beams and traditional latch doors.
The lounge is very special and quaint, with an exposed stone wall housing a wood burner, beams and cosy low ceilings. There is a window to the front showcasing the Cefn Bryn views and open to the lounge is the study which mirrors all attributes that the lounge has.

We move into the kitchen/breakfast room which has a lovely outlook over the rear garden and to the side outdoor heated swimming pool.
You have a lovely stone tiled floor and range of fitted base and wall units. The taller ceiling height and large windows contribute to the natural brightness of the room, yet we still have the beams for character.
In the kitchen you will find a porcelain Belfast sink, integrated under the worktop fridge/freezer, dishwasher and Belling double oven with five ring and warming plate electric hob. Along with the kitchen you have a very handy separate walk in pantry store with fitted shelves, and hidden
just off the lounge is a generous rear porch/utility room where you can have access to the side garden (pool side).

Next, we come to the dining room which is an excellent size, has exposed stone wall, beams and large windows with door to front. A fantastic size for entertaining.
You also have a shower and sauna room which is great for relaxing and also great for when you return home after trecking over Cefn Bryn or through the local woods with the kids and dogs.

We can now ascend to the first floor to discover the sleeping
accommodation. There are two separate staircases leading you upstairs, the first is situated in the lounge and the second are located in the rear hallway next to the dining room.
The stairs from the rear hallway lead directly up into the master suite and the low level windows to front provide lots of natural light to welcome you. The main bedroom is a fantastic size and leads you to a walk through dressing room, which leads to the en-suite bathroom. The dressing room has windows to the front and fitted wardrobes and the en-suite bathroom has a separate shower unit, Vernon Tutbury wash basin with storage under, WC and bidet. All together a fantastic space as a master suite.

The two remainder double bedrooms are a lovely size, both with small built in storage and lots of natural light. One bedroom looks over the rear garden and one looks out to the moors to the front.
A family bathroom services both bedrooms, with generous preparations the family bathroom houses a large corner bath, Vernon Tutbury wash basin with storage under and WC.
The second staircase is situated next to the family bathroom and leads down to the lounge area.

Long Oaks Cottage also has the benefit of a superb self contained, two bedroom annex. The annex has its own entrance but also has a connecting door to the main house creating a very flexible living situation.
You enter the annex into a large bright hallway which leads to all living accommodation, arranged over one floor. The exceptionally generous ‘L’ shaped lounge/dining room has copious amounts of windows looking out to the rear gardens and the wooden beams create a cosy cottage feel.

The large kitchen is another lovely and bright room thanks to the large windows overlooking the private courtyard.
