The wood is chipped at the wood shed off Gledstone Road and feeds a boiler where it smoulders at a temperature sufficient to supply heat/water to the development. Each property is fitted with a heat exchanger to draw off what is individually required and the amount used is recorded on a meter situated externally for convenience. Waste water/sewage is recorded in the same way on a separate meter. The unit calculation is made by reference to the Fueltool website and is fixed quarterly in advance.
The number of units used multiplied by this price equals the cost. Quarterly invoices/statements are supplied by Marton Services. It is a requirement that a monthly direct debit payment is made and this is adjusted annually reflecting any over/under payment. The owner is currently paying £40 pcm.
