Built in 1950's and extended to provide adaptable accommodation ideal for the family this detached house has four bedrooms and large private gardens tucked away down a private lane.

The property
Willowdene may still have the original character and style of a 1950's property with its solid wood parquet flooring and bow windows but once you step into the property you quickly realise that its been extended and altered so that it now provides flexible accommodation that would suit a family's needs or someone working from home who requires some extra space.

On the ground floor the entrance hall has original solid wood parquet flooring with stairs to the first floor. The front sitting room has bow window to the front, parquet flooring and original fire place. As you walk from the hall towards the kitchen you begin to see how the extra living space now provides a large additional area of accommodation arranged as a spacious kitchen/dining room with large range of units under a granite work surface with butler style sink and gas fired Aga.

At the far end of the room is ample space for dining table with conservatory style windows overlooking the rear gardens. The original dining room can now be used as a snug and has a fireplace with wood burner. A door leads to a conservatory with access onto the rear gardens. There is a rear lobby/utility with gas boiler, plumbing and space for washing machine and tumble dryer. There is cloakroom and access to the rear garden. A secondary stair case leads to an office/bedroom 4 that overlooks the rear garden and would make an ideal room for someone who wants to be away from the main part of the house.

The main first floor accommodation comprises two large double bedrooms with fitted wardrobes along with a third single sized bedroom and family bathroom with separate shower cubicle.

Willowdene has a generous horse shoe shaped driveway that provides plenty of parking and turning space. The garage has been divided internally so that it now offers a pantry/store that leads directly to the kitchen but still retains storage space for bikes etc. Double doors lead from the garage onto the large enclosed level gardens that are approximately 100ft long and laid to lawn with summerhouse, shrubs, trees and bushes. At the far end of the garden and hidden from sight by a beech hedge is a further area of garden with fruit trees, raised vegetable beds and timber garden shed (with power and lighting). Next to this is a useful log store with further area currently used for composting.

Tucked away down a private lane and yet under 1 mile from Chard, a historic market town with a good mix of local independent stores, large supermarkets and B&Q store. Chard also has a good variety of schools, both state schools and the historic Chard Independent School.

Chard has excellent road links via the A30 which travels east to Crewkerne and Yeovil and west towards Exeter, and the A358 which travels north towards Taunton and the M5 or south towards the Jurassic coast (c.30 minutes drive). There are main-line stations at Axminster, Crewkerne (Waterloo) and Taunton (Paddington).

Just a short distance away, is the lovely village of Combe St Nicholas which is set in lovely countryside not far from the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its miles and miles of herepaths popular for walking, cycling and horse-riding.
