Situation
Craigengar is situated just to the southern edge of the North Ayrshire commuter town of Beith.

The house is conveniently located on the edge of the town and is close to both open countryside and the A737 which is the main trunk road connecting Glasgow, Paisley and North Ayrshire.

Beith centre is about 0.5 miles to the north and is part pedestrianised. There is a good range of local shops and services which easily cater for every day needs and requirements. There are supermarkets, a medical surgery, chemists and local firms of solicitors and other professional services.

Beith has local nursery schools as well as two primary schools and local secondary schools. Glasgow has numerous independent schools and St Columba’s in Kilmacolm (9 miles) has an independent day school for girls and boys with a pick-up point in Beith (between 3 – 18 years ).

Extensive shopping facilities are available at the Phoenix centre and at the Braehead retail village which has Sainsbury and M&S anchor stores.

Glasgow city (19 miles) has all the cultural, higher educational and leisure services normally associated with a major international centre. Glasgow Airport is conveniently situated 11 miles away.

An express bus service runs from Beith to Glasgow together with nearby Glengarnock and Lochwinnoch railway stations which have a regular service to and from the city.

Beith has a challenging 9 hole parkland golf course and there are many other courses in the surrounding Ayrshire and Renfrewshire countryside.

The nearby Garnock River offers good fishing where it is possible, by permit, to fish for brown trout, sea trout and salmon. The river has runs of salmon at the back end. There are a number of hill lochs and commercial fisheries which offer good sport.

Castle Semple loch is part of the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park and offers inland sailing and coaching for beginners. The Firth of Clyde has excellent chandlery and marina services as well as some of the UK’s most scenic and enjoyable coastal sailing.

For those with equestrian interests, surrounding back roads and bridle paths offer miles of pleasant hacking country.
