Churchinford is a favoured village set within the Blackdown hills which are designated as An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Churchinford provides a thriving local community with its village hall, community shop, post office, health centre and public house whilst a parish church and primary school are located nearby in Churchstanton. The Somerset county town of Taunton lies to the north providing an extensive range of shopping, educational, sporting and cultural facilities along with a main line intercity rail link and access to the M5 motorway at junction 25 Blackbrook. How Does It Work?
You buy a share of your home (usually between 25% and 75% of the home's value) and pay rent on the remaining share. You can buy bigger shares at a later stage when you can afford to. You'll need to take out a mortgage to pay for your share of the home's purchase price, or fund this through your savings. Shared ownership properties are leasehold however they do change to become freehold if you get to 100% ownership. Approval needed by Liverty and help to buy south west. Please note that priority will be given to applicants who can demonstrate a local connection to the Parish of Churchstanton.

Price displayed for a 25% share, with rent and other rates payable thereafter. All interested parties will be required to register with Liverty (previously known as DCH), and also with Help To Buy South West (previously known as South West Homes). To apply for one of the homes, we will require the following information from you:

• Details of any additional income (if applicable)

• Evidence of any outstanding loans including credit cards
• Photographic proof of id
• Credit referencing report for each applicant

Local Connection Requirement
An eligible person means a person who is unable to secure accommodation suitable for their needs in the open housing market within the District of Taunton Deane and who additionally satisfies one or more of the following criteria, namely:

• Immediately prior to the allocation are ordinarily resident within the Parish of Churchstanton
• Have strong local connections with the Parish of Churchstanton, including having a family association in the said parish and/or any periods of ordinary residence in the said parish not immediately before the date upon which any shared ownership property becomes vacant and/or such persons who have permanent employment in the Parish of Churchstanton
• Immediately prior to the allocation have been ordinarily resident within the adjoining parishes of Otterford and/or Pitminster
• In the event of there being no one available on the Homebuy Agent list, any person approved in writing by the Council (such approval not to be unreasonably withheld)

After Buying?
You can buy additional shares at a later date until in some cases you own 100% of your home if you wish to.
