Champagny-en-Vanoise is a traditional mountain village in the Parc National de la Vanoise region (there is a free shuttle in summer and winter that links the telecabin to the cross country skiing area). The village is linked, for skiing purposes, to La Plagne and it has tremendous facilities with all levels of skiing ability provided for. Snowboarders can also take advantage of a purpose built snow park. Summer activities include swimming, fishing, walking, cycling, horse trekking and white water rafting. The village is a lovely place for families and has many cosy bars and restaurants in which to enjoy the traditional Savoie cuisine. There is also an excellent variety of small shops that are open winter and summer round (shops open all year long in Bozel 5km).
The international airports at Lyon, Grenoble and Geneva are a little over a 2-hour drive from the village, with the seasonal airport at Chambéry an hour and a half away. The tgv station is 20 minutes away in Moûtiers and there is good access to the motorway network.
