Description of the buildings

The apartment extends over a surface area of 505.80 square metres and is laid out on four staggered levels.

The ground floor is divided into two separate areas and has an l-shape with beautiful view and exclusive access to the garden. On one side there are two living rooms, kitchen with dining area, ironing lab, bedroom, bathroom and laundry. The hallway leads to the cellar and technical rooms. On the other side, but still on the same level, there is hallway, kitchen, dining room equipped with serving hatch and toilet. On the raised ground floor there is a long corridor leading to the two bedrooms, bathroom, master bedroom with dressing room and ensuite bathroom.

State and finishes

The villa was built in the 1400 and it used to belong to important families of the Florentine nobility. It was restored at the beginning of the 20th century and since 1933 has been residence of the Queen Elena of Romania for over thirty years. In that period the villa reached the height of its splendor.

The apartment is currently uninhabited und it needs some work. Inside there are still old fireplaces, terracotta and parquet floorings, ceilings with exposed beams and vaults with exposed terracotta tiles.
External areas

The property includes an Italian garden in exclusive use of 877 square metres (9440 square feet), which was recreated at the Queen Helen of Romania’s will. Here there are ornamental plants, a lemon house, a characteristic fountain and some sculptures, as well as a winter garden, a lemon greenhouse and the paved pergola of 45 sqm.

The garden in joint ownership with small outbuildings has a surface area of 32,280 square metres.
