East Greenwich is the area known as "East of Greenwich Park" and can best be characterised as a residential, family area close to many amenities. By and large residential homes in the area are period, interspersed with "˜Post War' where homes were lost. The area benefits from its location. While Greenwich Park and Pleasance Park are short walks away, the "˜Heath' of Blackheath opens up at the top with lots of green areas to enjoy recreational time. Not only is East Greenwich close to Green Areas but it also benefits from Woolwich Road, a nearby trunk road connecting Maritime Greenwich to the Greenwich Peninsula. Maze Hill Railway Station in Zone 3 provides a frequent service into Central London reaching Charing Cross (Trafalgar Square) between 12-15 minutes. Notwithstanding the above, the busy Woolwich Road as a trunk road carries most of the bus traffic between the 02's (Olympic Basketball Finals and Gymnastics) North Greenwich Underground Station (Jubilee Line) and Maritime Greenwich Cutty Sark Docklands Light Railway (with connections to Stratford's Olympic Village) via Canary Wharf.
