Britain’s Best Lockdown Makeover

More than a year has passed since the first lockdown began and many UK homeowners have used the time to transform their living spaces – often with a view to adding value and selling up for a tidy profit.

We wanted to use the launch of our My Home experience – which allows homeowners to get an instant online estimate of their home’s value – to ask people to submit pictures of their lockdown home makeovers. The winner would receive a £500 home improvement voucher.

We saw tired rooms being spruced up, new bathrooms plumbed in, kitchen-diner extensions built and dozens of walls ripped down.

But of all the entries, one stood out for its jaw-dropping before-and-after transformation. And we can now reveal that the winner of Britain’s best lockdown makeover is Shereena from Solihull. Congratulations Shereena!

This living space has really helped us as a family during lockdowns. We have been able to homeschool, have at-home parties as a family and make it fun for the kids and generally just spend time together in the space. The bi-folds bring the garden into the house too so the kids can run inside and out without paying too much attention to what is happening in the outside world. We’re really pleased with our lockdown home makeover, it’s added value to the property as well as increased how much time we spend at home.
