Access to the croft is through gates at the top and bottom of the croft. A stone ruin sits in the centre of the croft on a flat area of ground.

Croft 17 has panoramic views of Scourie, Scourie Bay and the surrounding hills in a location which is enjoyed by both residents and visitors (Scourie is on the NC500 route). It is around 90 miles north-west of Inverness and 42 miles north of Ullapool. Scourie has a Post Office, shop, restaurants, hotel, petrol station and a village hall as well as a beautiful bay. Education is provided at Scourie Primary School and Kinlochbervie High School. Residents and visitors enjoy the area with its mountains, coast, lochs, islands (including Handa Island) and its wonderful wildlife.


From Inverness, travel north on the A9. Take a left turn onto the B9176 and again onto A836 Lairg Road. Turn left on to the A837. As the road passes Loch Assynt, turn right onto the A 894, signposted to Durness. Continue past Kylesku to Scourie along the A894. From Ullapool travel north along the A 835 Lochinver Road past Elphin. Turn left onto the A 837 at Ledmore junction. Follow the directions above.


Electricity and water supplied by Scottish Water and sse are nearby. Drainage would require to be to a septic tank or non mains option.
