Painswick is delightfully unspoilt. Dominated by its magnifcent church and surrounded by spectacular countryside, the village has an exceptional number of period buildings at its centre, dating from the 17th and 18th Century. St Marys Mead by contrast is a well planned development of just five houses, in an open and spacious setting. Constructed in 2005, great care was taken with the design to reflect the special setting and to ensure the houses remain private and do not intrude on the surrounding properties.
