Only a short walk to Applecross Primary School and a few hundred metres from the sea, this charming two-bedroom bungalow benefits from being in one of the most rural areas of the UK, with easy access to the thriving village and its strong community. It is, however, still within reasonable distance of Inverness and Dingwall.

Constructed in 1970, the property has an interior space of 69 m2 and is centrally heated by lpg. Planning permission has also been granted to include an attic conversion. With High quality laminated wooden flooring, creating an iconic country cottage aesthetic.

Steps from the front lawn lead down to the property's entrance which opens into a vestibule. The hallway is painted antique white with white joinery and panelled doors. A pretty sitting room has a teal feature wall that houses a large woodburning stove on a slate hearth.

The kitchen/dining room has a beautiful view of the garden and looks out across moorland towards the sea. White floor cabinets are arranged in a u-shaped and are topped with a granite inspired laminate worksurface leaving space for a breakfast bar below the window. The large double ceramic sink and a striking extractor hood create additional points of interest. Space for a dining area is near the rear exit, and there is a separate utility room with floor and wall cabinets.

The generously sized principal bedroom is decorated in blue and antique white and has an en-suite shower room with a shower tray, WC, and wash hand basin. A second bedroom is at the front of the property and is painted in a playful green.

The bathroom is fully tiled and has a bath with an electric shower, a WC, and a wash hand basin.

Accessed from the kitchen, a pretty garden is enclosed with green-painted timber fencing. There is a neat gravelled patio and a lawn. The garden backs onto open land dotted with birch trees, and has spectacular views towards the Inner Sound.

7 Burnside is on a well-maintained road that serves the small communities and provides an important route to the essential services on the Applecross Peninsula, including a petrol station, doctor and school. Being close to a number of similar properties gives it the advantage of a rural location but one that is not isolated.

This charming and well-maintained house will make a wonderful home for a small family or couple, or those seeking a bolthole in one of Scotland’s most spectacular areas.

About Applecross

Applecross is a rural peninsula on the west coast of mainland Scotland which can be accessed either by a spectacular Alpine-style road from the south (Bealach na Bà or Pass of the Cattle) or a winding coastal road from the north.

With a population of about 500 spread among several crofting communities, the area is not only wild, rugged, and beautiful but also remote and undisturbed. With its peace and tranquility, some say it feels like being in a different world.

At around 70,000 acres, Applecross is rich in impressive mountains, secluded rivers, beaches, woodlands and lochs, and many types of wildlife, including golden eagles, pine martens, rare flora, and 16 square miles designated as an sssi (Site of Special Scientific Interest). Much of the Peninsula is part of the Applecross Estate, now owned by Scottish charity, The Applecross Trust, whose aim is to preserve its character and heritage and its importance as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The main settlements are on the west of the Peninsula and follow the coast of the Inner Sound; these include the village of Applecross (known as Shore Street), Milton, Camusterrach, Culduie and Toscaig. With easy access to Skye, Plockton and Gairloch, Applecross is an attractive destination for visitors who enjoy outdoor activities, including kayaking, fishing, cycling and hiking. The Bealach na Bà and the coastal road are part of the North Coast 500.

Applecross has one primary school and a doctor’s surgery. It is 80 miles, or approximately two hours' drive, from Inverness. Crofting, fishing, and agriculture are important sources of employment on the Peninsula. The economy is also seeing an increase in tourism and construction, with many who reside in or move to the area being self-employed.
