Sellers View...
My parents bought the house without seeing it from abroad! They lived happily there for 50 years. They and the house were very much known to the rest of the road. Even now, I am stopped by neighbours to chat about them. Alwyn Road is a community spirited road and the neighbours are very thoughtful and friendly. When celebrating ve Day during the pandemic, their neighbour set up tables and chairs with bunting so they could be included. Made sure they had plenty of cake!

The house was built by a prestigious local builder of he time, and is sited on an orchard. The 90ft south facing garden has a small Pear tree that does bear fruit. Also, at the bottom an Apple tree is reshooting from the stump. I remember picking apples to make apple pies and chutneys. To the left of the path was originally a vegetable garden. In later years, we grew lots of strawberry!

The house has generous proportioned rooms that are light and airy. This is where I grew up. I always felt there was plenty of room to play and my bedroom was quiet, enabling me to do
homework during my teenage years. I also lived there for 6 weeks with my husband before we moved into our first marital home. I believe the layout and size of rooms allows it to be particularly accommodating and adaptable to different stages of life. An architect has drawn up plans for a potential remodelling and back extension. Unfortunately, due to the need to sell, the plans remain unrealised.

Located in Pinkneys Green, it is perfectly situated. It is slightly out of the centre of town, but within easy walking distance. We regularly walked into town. It takes 20 mins. My mum bought the house because it was close to where she worked and within the nearby M4 junction London or Heathrow is a short journey time. There are 4 schools within walking distance.
From a social recreational aspect, I have great memories of playing tennis most weekends at Oaken Grove Park, a five minute walk. The playground as been modernised over the years. It
became a popular play to take my children. Stubbings nursery cafe, a popular place for my parents who enjoyed their tea and scones.

Stuart's comments...

I used to live on this road and absolutely love the area!

If you're looking for something to put your stamp on, and something that can be extended, this house is the perfect opportunity! The owner has had plans drawn up (they are on the second floor plan pictures) and with the planning laws in the rbwm you can extend this property on the ground floor 4m to the rear under permitted development.

Many other houses along the road have done double story rear / garage conversions, so there's plenty of precedent and inspiration to turn this place into something special. There's no onward chain and this one will be very popular so make sure you get to see it quickly.
