Description
Built in the early 19th century of brick under a slate roof, Moreton Field Farm is a most charming property with separate ancillary accommodation, home office and barn, and set in formal gardens and grounds approaching 8 acres in total. With 2457 sq ft in the main house arranged over two floors, it provides well proportioned, flexible and practical accommodation of character which will appeal to families of all ages. There are three separate reception rooms, together with a welcoming farmhouse kitchen/breakfast room, ideal for informal entertaining and a useful utility room and cloakroom. On the first floor are six bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The impressive party barn has a stunning sitting room with vaulted ceiling with exposed timbers and large fireplace with wood burning stove. With a first floor en suite bedroom and useful downstairs cloakroom/shower room, it is ideal for guests or ancillary accommodation. The attached open bay barn provides parking and extensive storage, and a separate granary has been reconfigured to provide an appealing home office.
Lying in this enviable setting and with glorious countryside views, the gardens and grounds are a particularly attractive feature. The carefully landscaped, formal gardens are laid to lawn with well stocked, mixed borders with roses, perennials, shrubs and mature hedging. An inviting outdoor swimming pool lies to one side of the house with paved surrounds and enclosed by a low brick wall. Beyond this lies the all-weather tennis court. There are further areas of garden surrounding the house, interspersed with trees, plants and shrubs and also includes an orchard. A carefully planned and well laid-out kitchen garden lies beyond the garden of the party barn, and there is a wildflower meadow and large paddock. In total the plot is around 8 acres.
