Rear Garden
The property benefits from a large (approximately 100ft x 50ft) rear garden which is south facing. A good sized patio leads off from the kitchen/diner which is covered by a pergola with slatted sides provding a flower bed for climbing plants (Jasmine, Clematis and Honeysuckle) and shade from the midday sun. There is also a raised flower bed to the side, planted with bulbs such as Tulips, Irises, Daffodils and Alliums.
The remainder of the garden is laid to lawn with two concrete bases for sheds.
Gated side access leads to the front.
The front garden is laid to gravel which is currently used as parking although there is currently no dropped kerb. There is a space to the side of the house that is used for bin storage and a bike shed.
There is on street parking to the front of the house.
The property is situated just over half a mile from the centre of Melksham and its many facilities including King George V park with its revamped children's playground, splashpad, dog run and cafe which hosts music events in the summer. The town has a new leisure centre with swimming pool, fitness centre and library. There are a range of shops, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. Forest Community Centre is around the corner which also has a cafe and a small play park which has just been refurbished. There is a further play park on Methuen Avenue. Also in the local area is a vets, ballet school, dog grooming, vehicle repair shop, convienience store and pub. There are a good range of dog walking routes on the doorstep over local fields and you can walk to Lacock along the river if you so wish (or paddle board!).
There are a range of primary schools in the area including Rivermead which is around a 10 minute walk from the house, The Manor which is under 15 minutes away and Forest and Sandridge which is just over 20 minutes . Melksham Oak Secondary school is 2 miles away, however I believe a bus goes from just round the corner.
Sports facilities in the area include football, rugby and cricket clubs along with water activities being offered on the river. Melksham also has great provision for other clubs including dance, gymnastics and martial arts. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides also have groups in the town.
The towns of Calne, Corsham, Trowbridge and Chippenham are a short distance away, with Chippenham having mainline rail services into London in around an hour. Melksham also has its own train station, sitting on the Swindon to Westbury line which passes through Trowbridge and Chippenham.
