Designed with care and a stylish eye, this three-bedroom flat in Crouch End has a spectacular roof terrace and views overlooking Alexandra Palace. The level of attention to detail makes it altogether quite exceptional.
Brickworks Says
The quality of design is plain to see in the reimagining of this three-bedroom home. Situated on one of the most desirable roads in Crouch End, there is much to covet, with gorgeous details everywhere you look.
On the first floor, eyes are drawn immediately to the handmade kitchen with solid oak drawers. The exquisite terrazzo surfaces and pea green of the island are a refined pairing and give the space a fresh, clean look. High-end appliances, including an Elica induction hob with an integrated extractor, sit perfectly in the surroundings. Equal attention has been paid to creating a calm environment, with double-glazed sash windows and sound installation underfoot.
Every room has had the same thoughtful, high-end treatment, such as the Rak Ceramics, Kaldewei shower tray and marble Mandarin Stone tiles in the bathroom. Upstairs, the extension clad in black zinc is peppered with delights, like the circular skylight above the office space that mirrors the bedroom's porthole window. But the real swoon-worthy moment comes from the terrace just beyond the sliding doors, where the rooftop vista looks out over the verdant gardens and, at the front, as far as Alexandra Palace (the inspiration for the circular windows). It's truly a special place to enjoy some R&R - the cherry on the cake of an outstanding home.
Last year, Crouch End was named one of the best places to live in the UK, with leafy Elm Grove getting a special mention. And it's no wonder. Close to the bounty of bakeries, brunch spots and restaurants on offer, not to mention the delectable selection of delis and pubs for every occasion. But it's not all about the food and drink! Head to West Reservoir to dip your toe into the water and embark on wild swimming in beautiful surroundings, or head up to the ancient woodlands of Highgate to get away from it all. Indeed, it's this balance of urban energy and village calm that makes Crouch End such a wonderful place to be.
The Owners Say
We have loved living in our flat and it will be so tough to leave. The main living and kitchen space is great for entertaining and relaxing, with lots of original features and natural daylight. The main bedroom is amazingly tranquil and has brilliant views of Alexandra Palace, where you can watch the buses go over the hill.
We love all our outdoor space. The roof terrace is spacious and south-facing, so it's a great spot for soaking up the sun or having an evening drink. The front garden is great for our bikes and is fun for a bit of gardening. We are planning on staying local for our next move. Once you move to Crouch End, with everything it has to offer and the people you meet, you never want to leave!
