Internally, the very well maintained and smartly presented accommodation comprises a most impressive reception room of excellent proportions, featuring an unusually high beamed ceiling together with an impressive Hamstone fireplace with fitted wood burner. This room has a twin aspect, with both window casements being original stone mullions.

Behind the sitting room, and situated at the back of the house, is the modern kitchen that is fitted with an excellent range of wall and floor standing cabinets, integrated appliances to include a double electric oven and ceramic hob, together with dishwasher plumbing, etc. From the kitchen a Hamstone arch with door opens to a ground floor bathroom that is fitted with a 3 piece bathroom suite and has fully tiled walls.

The principal bedroom is to be found at the front of the house with a stone mullion window (secondary glazed), a built-in cupboard and an archway to an en suite shower room that is fitted with a w.c., a shower enclosure with an integrated shower and fully tiled walls.

Speckington is a small, rural hamlet situated within a stone’s throw of Bridgehampton, Yeovilton and Podimore. A fine range of amenities can be found in nearby Ilchester, including a primary school and doctors’ surgery. The A303 is readily accessible at Podimore roundabout, providing good commuting facilities with the A37 also accessed from this roundabout going north to Bristol and Bath.

The Wing is approached from the lane via a long driveway that is shared with Speckington Manor. Directly in front of the house is open plan lawn, together with a driveway offering parking and having double gates opening to a gravelled area with further parking. There is a garage with double doors, light, power and mezzanine storage and, attached to rear (accessed independently), is a home office/workshop that provides for multiple uses.

The majority of garden is enclosed within stone walling and hedgerow with extensive lawns, a pond within a stone surround, a decked area to one side that is home to a large summerhouse with adjacent store. There is a screened oil tank, an external oil fired boiler, extensive shrubbery within planted beds, a concealed chicken run and, at the rear, a large area that was formerly used for vegetable growing (although this has now been covered over and provides further landscaping opportunities), a greenhouse and shed, together with several apple trees. At the bottom of this garden is a useful utility area with 2 sheds.
