Tower Orchard House is a sublime four-bedroom, two-storey house nestled in a picturesque spot alongside the grounds of Cambuskenneth Abbey on the edge of the village.
Inside, its finishes pair a comforting rusticity with modern convenience to create a confident and contemporary home. Despite its tranquil setting, the centre of Stirling is a short 10-minute drive from the property.
Internally the lower level of the home includes the following accommodation:
• A smart kitchen with bespoke cabinetry and excellent worktop space. Integrated appliances are housed behind the units and an island provides additional storage. A set of French doors connects to the outside and brings in a huge amount of light.
• Adjoining the kitchen is dining space, perfectly positioned. The area provides plenty of room for a large dining table and chairs.
• An inviting lounge positioned to the front of the plan. The room is tremendously calm – especially when the central fire is lit. Warm carpeting sits underfoot.
• A large spacious double bedroom with wardrobes expertly fitted into the wall space. Window to the side and rear invites in a huge amount of light.
• An extra bedroom which is currently set up as additional living space. This connects to the home office where a desk is perfectly positioned to take in the outstanding views. This area within the home is so flexible and could be used in a variety of configurations.
• A beautiful shower room serves the lower level of the home, presented impeccably with large walk-in shower.
The upper level of the home includes the following accommodation:
• An upper landing where light floods the space via two sets of velux windows installed in the roof space.
• Two spacious double bedrooms with excellent storage provision. The outlooks over the River Forth, the garden areas and surrounding countryside are breathtaking.
• A family bathroom located off the upper landing serves the upper level.
An area of private outdoor space sits to the front of the house and is home to a variety of established trees and plants. A seating area has been created in the corner to enjoy the summer sun. Positioned within such a secluded and amazing setting, there is plenty of opportunity to explore the abbey grounds which also provide a walk through down to the River Forth.
The home is heated via a gas condensing boiler which was replaced around three years ago. The home also includes a hive system.
Cambuskenneth Abbey is an Augustin monastery steeped in history with its bell tower remaining. The neighbouring village is named after it and is now managed by historic Scotland. There is also a historic graveyard on the site including James 111 King of Scots and his wife Margaret of Denmark, as well as many of the abbots of Cambuskenneth.
The village of Cambuskenneth is on the site of an old orchard and is a village in the city of Stirling. It is situated by the River Forth and in 1935 a footbridge was built across the river to the neighbouring district of Riverside, Stirling. The train station is an easy 5 minutes or so by bicycle from the property or a pleasant walk into the city. Prior to 1935, access to Stirling was via a ferry.
An outstanding home in a beautiful setting. Viewings can be arranged via the selling agents, Slater Hogg & Howison.
