About this property
Balcony
Spacious and bright one bed apartment - with a Freehold-share and a sunny balcony to fab verdant views - on the second floor of a small modern end of terrace development. Chain free.
Find your new home just off the top corner of Peckham Rye Park and Common’s 113 acres, super close to Aquarius (volunteer-run, 9-hole) Golf Course. The beautiful nature reserve of Nunhead Cemetery is just a short walk, too.
Parking is unrestricted on this and the surrounding streets. Local stations (each circa a mile) are Nunhead, Brockley and Peckham Rye. Bus routes from the local stop on Cheltenham Road can express your journey to each.
A smart communal hall is a warm welcome. Take the stairs up to your own front door. Once in, there is a sizeable built-in storage cupboard to your right. You could easily re-purpose this to be a utility room as a future project.
Take a left at the front door, follow the hall round and you land in your gorgeous main room, of 16 feet by nearly 19 feet. This has a double-aspect (including double-glazed doors onto your cute balcony with a view). It also follows the roof line so there is a real sense of scale and space. The balcony faces south-west so you get great light all day, too.
Your independent windowed fitted kitchen is tucked off the top corner of the main reception space. This has modern wall and base units, neat counters, metro-style tiling and a double-glazed window above the sink.
Next up you have got a sleek modern bathroom with modern white sanitary ware, an over-bath shower, and large-profile faux-marble tiling. A square double-glazed window sits central to the bath.
Finally, find your big double bedroom (of 13 feet by 11 feet). Again, pleasingly you have a roofline ceiling, and windows to two walls. A pair of built-in wardrobes further feature.
A leafy yet well-connected locale. As mentioned, stations near to yours are Nunhead, Brockley and Peckham Rye - all are circa a mile from the house (and Fare Zone 2). And your closest bus stop is less than two minutes away on Cheltenham Road (you’ve got the 484 to Kings Hospital/Denmark Hill Station, and the 343 to Peckham and New Cross Gate Station).
Your local pubs include The Ivy House, The Waverley, The Herne and The Angel Oak.
Village-vibe Nunhead is a short stroll, and has fine offerings, such as the fishmongers fc Soper, Mother Superior wine shop/deli, Goodcup/Goodnights (coffee/cocktails) and Kudu Grill. There is also a strong community centre by aoc Architects, by Nunhead Green.
At the tip of Peckham Rye Common, you have loads of hip eateries and such - including Mr Bao and Banh Banh, plus a trendy hairdressing salon.
Peckham’s Bellenden Road, Blenheim Grove and Rye Lane are also close for yummy restaurants (we rate Ganapati, The Begging Bowl and Artusi particularly highly), summer rooftop bars, Peckham Levels, Peckham Plex Cinema, and The Bussey Building.
You are also but a short stroll from East Dulwich’s Lordship Lane. Here we like Franklin’s, The edt, East Dulwich Picturehouse, William Rose (butcher), The Cheese Block, smbs and Brothers - these latter two have good fresh produce.
