As one of the largest villages in England, Kidlington offers a wide number of amenities including dentists, doctors, a building society, café’s, local supermarkets and a large Sainsburys as you enter the village. There are nursery’s, four primary Schools, and a secondary school. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool and a wide variety of football & cricket pitches, tennis courts and recreation all around the village. There are numerous public houses, and eateries for all tastes including a Miller & Carter. Oxford Airport is also a short distance from the property.
To the north of the village takes you to Woodstock circa 3 miles and beyond to Banbury. To the south is the City of Oxford circa 7 miles. Kidlington has its own Rail station, Parkway, which offers frequent commutes to London Marylebone or into Oxford City. A couple of stops along on route to Marylebone is the famous Bicester Village Shopping outlet. The A34, A40 and M40 are all within easy reach from the village and regular buses services take you to Bicester, Banbury, Woodstock or into Oxford City.
In the owners own Words:
A big motivation for us buying the property was its excellent transportation links both into London and Oxford. The local amenities are excellent, and Churchill Road is non-estate.
The very large garden was a significant factor in us buying this house, having very generous proportions that are rarely available in Kidlington and most other towns. This has been a joy to shape into a flexible, social space with multiple seating areas that make the most of the sunshine throughout the day.
As well as the two bedrooms, the flexible space in the loft was ideal for us as a dedicated home office. As a couple, we have also used the single bedroom as an occasional office and guest bedroom. This room was used as a nursery/child’s bedroom by the prior owners.
The working open fireplace in the lounge (which would also suit conversion to a wood burner) is delightful during the winter months.
Kidlington is a large but friendly village with all the amenities anyone could possibly need!
