Now an eight-mile cycle and walkway it takes you through beautiful countryside to link with the villages of Redbourne and Harpenden. The Grand Union Canal runs through Hemel too offering miles of waterside walks, with pretty cafés and inns for you to relax in.
Exit the M1 Junction 8 or the Hemel Hempstead exit on the A41 and proceed onto the A414 – head north at the roundabout signposted Maylands A4147/Redbourn (B487). Continue along this road for 1 mile, turning right by Screwfix onto Swallowdale Lane. Continue along this road for ½ mileand the road merges into Three Cherry Trees Lane, you will find the entrance to Swallow Fields on your right.
