Agents flock to Zoopla as branch numbers reach three year high
Over 1,000 branches have joined Zoopla since lockdown began
Total branch and new homes sites now stands at over 18,000, the highest for three years
News follows Zoopla’s £30 million investment in agents at the start of lockdown
Zoopla, the UK’s most comprehensive property destination, has revealed that it added over 1,000 branches since lockdown began in March. This sustained growth takes its total branch and new homes number to over 18,000, a three year high.
The growth comes as agents prepare for the busiest property market in the run up to Christmas for over a decade. Despite the 50 day market closure in England at the start of the first lockdown, the sales pipeline is now 50% larger than this time last year, with 100,000 sales set to spill over into Q1 of 2021, and agents are aligning themselves with Zoopla to take maximum advantage of this.
Andy Marshall, Zoopla’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “It’s a competitive time for portals but what’s clear is more and more agents are choosing Zoopla as their partner of choice as they seek to capitalise on the buoyant housing market.
“Agents are driven by results and our track record of delivering improvements in product and technology, combined with our record investments in marketing and customer service are paying dividends, driving better, higher quality leads. We’re perfectly placed to support agents during this busiest pre-Christmas period for a decade and we’ve no doubt increasing numbers will continue to vote with their feet as we head into what promises to be a bumper New Year for the agent community.”
One agency that recently joined Zoopla is Hudson Moody, the award-winning, independent York-based estate agents. Commenting on why, Ben Hudson, Managing Director said: “Zoopla is a good fit for us as they are professional, they offer a deep understanding of the market and its trends, and they have a real appreciation of what agents need. Zoopla is straightforward, easy to use, and allows customers to get what they require quickly and easily. They also offer solid market insights that help buyers to make informed decisions.”
Zoopla has continued to improve the service it offers to customers over recent months, recently running a series of webinars for agents and developers led by its industry-leading Research & Insight team detailing the trends in the market and the company’s predictions for 2021.
Along with cutting-edge analysis the company has continued to improve its product offer, announcing a partnership with Pinterest, allowing users of its AdReach service to reach homemovers using Zoopla with targeted and hyperlocal campaigns. Prior to this in October Zoopla revealed a partnership with FocalAgent to offer a free virtual viewings service to agents, helping mitigate the impact of lockdown.
Founded in 2007, Zoopla is a successful, multi-tiered property business offering services to renters, buyers, sellers and landlords. The company returned to private ownership in July 2018 after a purchase by a group led by global private equity firm Silver Lake. Since the purchase a new leadership team has been implementing a focused strategy investing substantially in talent, technology, marketing and sales to help Zoopla enhance the service it offers consumers and to meet its ambitious growth plans.
