Zoopla reveals its most attention-grabbing homes

  • Regional listings dominate, taking eight of the top ten spots

  • Prices range widely, from a £25,000 three bed terraced house in Birmingham to a £30,000,000 mega-mansion in Godalming

  • Affordability is a key attraction for homehunters, with the majority of properties on the list priced at £300,000 or less

Zoopla, the UK’s most comprehensive property destination, has revealed its most viewed properties since the market reopened four weeks ago. Properties outside of London dominate the list and, with prices ranging from £15,000 to £30,000,000, there is something for everyone.

Top of the list is a sprawling ten-bedroom property in Godalming, the heart of Surrey’s stockbroker belt, for a cool £30,000,000. Attracting over 16,000 views over the past month, the dream home, which boasts its very own bowling alley, home cinema, spa and swimming pool, has clearly caught the eye of a nation on lockdown.

At the other end of the price spectrum and in tenth place is a more modest, three-bed semi detached house in the Birmingham suburb of Sheldon, which has secured over 8,000 views since the market reopened. The property, which has a guide price of £25,000 and is for sale via auction, could represent a unique opportunity for someone who wants to add a personal touch to their home.

The majority of the top ten most-viewed properties have a guide or asking price of £300,000 or under, indicating that affordability is at the forefront of buyers’ minds. Just three mega-mansions occupy the list, indicating that many Brits are favouring attainability over aspiration.

This boost in consumer demand for properties since the market reopened is reflected in new data from Zoopla, which shows that, since 13th May, a home hunter sent a new enquiry to an estate agent every 1.1 seconds. Furthermore, Zoopla’s busiest day was recorded on 6th June, with house hunters spending 207,000 hours on the site.

Tom Parker, Consumer Spokesperson at Zoopla comments: “It’s great to see a wide range of locations included in our list of most viewed properties since the market reopened four weeks’ ago, including the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West. What’s more, the wide range of homes in the list is a promising indication that people are browsing the market with an intent to buy, something that will be of relief to vendors across the UK.”
