Zoopla team rise to the Vertical Challenge and raise over £10k for Shelter
1st March 2012
At 7.30am this morning, a team of 16 staff from Zoopla, led by CEO Alex Chesterman, took part in Shelter’s Vertical Rush – climbing the 920 stairs of Tower 42 in the City of London. And between them, they raised an impressive £10,000 in much-needed cash to help Shelter’s efforts to battle homelessness and bad housing.
Last month Zoopla announced a partnership with Shelter, and committed to raise at least £25,000 for the national charity in 2012. So far, just 2 months into the year, Zoopla has now already surpassed that target through this morning’s Vertical Rush challenge and via other charitable activities that the company has been promoting.
Alex Chesterman, Founder & CEO of Zoopla said: “The Zoopla team is taking our effort to support Shelter very seriously and I am delighted that we managed to complete this challenge safely and have been able to raise the level of funds that we have so quickly. We are very grateful to those who supported us and the money raised today will help Shelter continue with their outstanding work trying to help those have fallen on hard times.
Shelter's housing advice helpline 0808 800 4444 is open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm Saturday and Sunday.
