With the revelation that there's only one property in the whole of the London on the market for £100,000, we've turned our attention to what other houses are available across the UK for the same price or less.
1. Three-bedroom semi-detached house in Comber, Newtownards, Ards, for £99,950
This semi-detached home is fairly unassuming from the outside, but inside looks like a brand-new home. Every room in is in immaculate condition, with a sleek fitted kitchen and modern bathroom among its perks. Comber is also only a 10-minute drive from the larger town of Newtownards, while Belfast can be reached in half an hour.

2. Three-bedroom semi-detached house in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, for £89,000
As starter homes go, this one within commuting distance of Glasgow is bang on the money. It’s been renovated throughout, but with magnolia walls and flooring yet to be laid, there’s still the opportunity to make it your own. All three bedrooms are doubles, but with the third bedroom located on the ground floor it could also be used as an extra reception room.

3. Three-bedroom terraced house in Plasmarl, Swansea, for £85,000
This home in the suburbs of Swansea is likely to attract both first-time buyers and investors given its potential rental income of £475, according to the agent. 5. Three-bedroom terraced house in Lowestoft, Suffolk, for £100,000
Fancy a home by the seaside? This terraced house within walking distance of the beach, train station and town centre could be the answer. It’s up for sale for dead on £100k, and while everything is in relatively good nick, you might have to go over budget if you want to update the kitchen or spruce up the garden.

6. One-bedroom houseboat in Canary Wharf, London, for £75,000
We’ve had to cheat to find a house for sale in London that comes in under £100k. This houseboat moored in Poplar Dock Marina was built in 2004 and is surprisingly bright and spacious. It’s also a stone’s throw from Canary Wharf which offers a wide range of shops and restaurants, along with excellent transport connections.
