Lancastrian Estates began life in 2005 as Cumbrian Properties when founding partner David Robinson sensed there was an important gap in the property market. Vastly experienced in estate agency from his early days at the North Lancashire firm Pye Wilson David realised from his subsequent experience in house building with Merewood and Crowther Homes that consumer friendly estate agencies were almost a thing of the past. Determined to create a business that would put the customer first, David gathered together a team of former colleagues and experienced professionals and opened offices in Lancaster, Kendal and Windermere. Despite the recession the company prospered and in 2010 David Robinson opened a fourth office in Morecambe. A spectacular return to his roots. Cumbrian Properties’ success and rise to prominence did not go unnoticed by the wider business community. In 2010 an approach was made by the Marsden Building Society who were looking to relocate their Lancaster office. The shared office concept was trialed in Lancaster and it became apparent that both companies shared the same basic business beliefs of value and service. To reflect the new concept it was decided that a new name and a new image would better reflect the new business model, and the developing partnership. There are now four fully integrated Lancastrian Estates/Marsden Building Society offices serving North Lancashire and South Cumbria. This unique liaison has naturally widened the financial services Lancastrian Estates can offer its customers, more often than not with special offers only available through their offices.
