Features and description

  • Well established 19 bedroom hotel
  • Sought after location adjoining Ventnor Park
  • Range of en-suite guest accommodation
  • Extensive guest and function facilities
  • Seasonal business with growth opportunities
The Eversley Hotel, with nineteen bedrooms, has been a family run business for the past 60 plus years, having been taken on by them in 1964. Situated next to Ventnor Park, it enjoys the same tranquil setting and feeling, offering guests a comfortable and relaxed stay that many have enjoyed repeatedly over many years. It’s location to Ventnor town is a relatively level walk. The seafront is also close by as is the Botanical Gardens. The beautiful village of Bonchurch is approximately a mile to the east. The Isle of Wight, being approximately 23 miles wide and 13 miles north to south allows guests to see as much or as little of it as they want with plenty to do and see including several theme style parks and a huge selection of beaches, Downland and countryside offering a range of activities from the extremely strenuous to the easy-going and relaxed vibe.
The opportunity has now arisen for someone to continue running and adding their own character to it.
The premises

On the ground floor is the reception area with an office, access to the different lounge areas and toilets. The dining room, which is accessed via the bar lounge can be set up as an intimate experience for residential guests or opened up to make a great dining area for private functions. There are two bars, one in the lounge area and one in the dining room. Access to the kitchen is via an ‘in’ and ‘out’ door from the dining room and is large enough to cater for residential guests and private function guests alike. The hotel itself is set up with a range of bedrooms to suit everyone, from grand bay window to mid range and budget friendly. Family rooms and for those less mobile there are ground floor options. In all there are nineteen bedrooms, two on the ground floor, seven on the first and ten on the second floor. An example of the three main room variants are as follows:

Premium Room, in this instance we have used Bedroom 4: 14’11 x 20’3
A front facing carpeted bedroom with a sash bay window and a sash side window facing in a westerly direction, having original cornicing and ceiling rose with a super king bed, bedside cabinets, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, fridge and tea making facilities, comfortable chairs and coffee table, TV, double radiators and an original feature fireplace. Door to en-suite and comprising of an enclosed shower unit, W.C, basin and heated ladder towel rail.

Standard large double, these are details of Room 3: 15’ x 14’9 max.
A double room with views, via the sash windows, in a westerly direction, towards Ventnor Park. Holding much of the same furniture as the premium room and an en-suite with shower, W.C, basin and radiator.

Double bedroom, these details are from Room 20: 13’1 x 10’
All the same furniture as the standard room. A sash window gives views to the east of the hotel. The en-suite benefits from having a bath as well as a shower, W.C, basin and radiator.

The flexibility continues in the variation of reception lounges with seven to choose from. A games room, a quiet lounge, a bar room and sun rooms are a few to mention.
There is a leisure suite on the second floor which has not been used since Covid and would require re-commissioning.

Outside the sunroom is a covered pergola area to enjoy the fresh air and has steps down to a lawned garden with mature plants, shrubs and trees. A heated swimming pool to the west of the garden completes the resident’s area.
There is ample parking to the front of the hotel, beneficial to both residents and private function guests.
The business
