Property description

Smartly finished one-bedroom apartment with a study in a charming Grade II listed development which is steeped in history, originally built as part of the St Giles’ Infirmary. The property is nestled on a quiet road with the beautiful Brunswick Park opposite, you are also just minutes from the buzzing heart of Camberwell and its amazing transport connections.
On entering the building, you are greeted by a well maintained communal area, that leads you up to the apartments front door.
Once inside, you are greeted with a welcoming hallway with spot lights, wooden flooring and contemporary grey walls. There are also some handy storage cupboards.
Heading into the open plan kitchen reception, your eyes are instantly drawn to the stunning sash windows with classic plantation blinds spanning the entire back wall, making this a lovely bright space, with the added benefit of secondary glazing. The open plan layout works well - with plenty of room for an L shape sofa, coffee table and table and chairs. Giving the space multiple uses, be it relaxing after a long day or socialising with friends & family. Well decorated and finished with dimmer light spotlighting, wooden flooring and elegant cast iron vertical radiators.
The kitchen has white gloss units with chrome handles, a complimenting grey quartz worktop and glass splashback. Fully integrated appliances including; Smeg fridge freezer, Smeg gas hob and oven, Apell Dishwasher and washing machine.
Opposite the reception room you enter the study/storage area, situated in the eaves of the building there is restricted head height in places but there is enough space for a desk and sofa - this is a perfect tranquil setting to get some work done or just great storage. Also finished with spotlighting and wooden floors.
Heading on to the bedroom you have a well-defined alcove which is perfect for wardrobe space and therefore gives you extra space for your bed and bedside tables, you also have high ceilings and further sash windows with secondary glazing, again making this a bright space. Finished off with warm neutral decor and wooden flooring.
The bathroom has good quality slate style flooring and porcelain wall tiles, a rainfall shower over the bath tub, WC and wash basin mounted on an oak shelving unit. You also have secondary glazing to keep you warm on those winter mornings.
Location - Brunswick Park is overlooked by some of the loveliest houses in Camberwell - with an area of private communal garden and tennis courts in the centre. It was named after King George iv's marriage to Caroline, daughter of the Duke of Brunswick.
You are just a short walk to Camberwell Church Street where you can hop on a number of buses that will whisk you into the City and beyond. Denmark Hill Station is a pleasant 0.7 mile walk away and offers fast trains to Victoria, the Thameslink line and the Overground between Clapham Junction and Highbury and Islington, Kings Cross for connections North and to Europe via Eurostar. Camberwell Church Street has seen a boom in the number of fantastic independent restaurants, cafes and bars meaning you will be spoilt for choice on your doorstep. Peckham is just down the road and is one of South London’s most exciting destinations, with great music, art and food. Brixton is not far in the opposite direction and has become famous in recent years for its fabulous food market and nightlife. Brunswick Park is not the only greenspace nearby. Burgess Park is just a short walk away and has lots to offer with numerous tennis courts, a lake, bbq facilities and a cycle route to the city.
