The Former Compasses Inn Wenhaston was for many years one of the two public houses in the village. It offers versatile and large accommodation which could be ideal for dual family occupation or possible commercial use.

As mentioned and as the name would imply, this property was, for many years a public house. In 2001 consent was granted for a change of use to a bed and breakfast establishment with restaurant and bar and in 2002 consent was granted for a change of use to residential. The property has two individual areas, the main house with substantial family accommodation and the detached annex in the grounds.
The village of Wenhaston is conveniently situated for access to the market towns of Halesworth (4 miles) and Beccles (10 miles). There are railway stations in both Halesworth and Beccles giving access to London's Liverpool Street via Ipswich. The popular Regency resort of Southwold and the heritage coastline is only 6 miles to the east. Norwich, the County City of Norfolk is 26 miles to the north and Ipswich, the County Town of Suffolk is 30 miles south.

To the front the drive provides a parking area for six cars. A gate leads to the path to the front door of the main house. This door leads to the hall which in turn provides access to the different areas of the property. To the front is the drawing room which has a fireplace and windows to both front and side. Double doors lead to the lounge which has a bay window to the front. From the lounge a door leads towards the back of the house into the dining room beyond which is a conservatory overlooking the rear garden. From the dining room a door leads into the kitchen which is fitted with a range of wall and base units and fitted breakfast bar, oven, hob and fridge. From here a door leads back to the inner hall with stairs to the first floor. There is also access to the utility room and the first ground floor cloakroom. Continuing back into the main hall a doorway leads to the second cloakroom, the office and the snug which has double doors to the garden and a further door to the utility room.

The stairs to the first floor rise to a split level landing which has doors to the four bedrooms. The master bedroom has a shower room en suite, bedroom two has a shower cubicle, a guest wash hand basin and a w. Also off this landing are both the family bathroom/wc and a shower room/wc. From bedroom three is a door to the first floor sitting room which has a door to the balcony overlooking the rear garden. The main house has oil fired central heating.

Within the ground is the detached annex which has an entrance door to a small sitting room with doors to the shower room and fitted kitchen. The bedroom is off the other side of the sitting room and in turn leads to the large living room overlooking the garden. Beside the kitchen and accessible from outside is the utility/store room. The annex has lpg central heating.

Outside the grounds provide screened areas, a summer house, the parking mentioned earlier, lawns and patio.
