The Area

History The Penthouse Apartment at Belmont - This is a newly built/renovated property, rebuilt around a retained fireplace/chimney and 2 walls from the original art deco house built in 1936. Mr and Mrs Perry were the only previous owners of the original house from 1936 to 2012. They had the house built and commissioned for them in most the fashionable art deco detailing available at the time.

Mr Perry was the man responsible for Bristol becoming a city, he was also the president of the Cornwall society, many of the original artifacts remain with the property and are included in the sale. The Penthouse conversion works were completed in 2018. The property has been built around (literally) a 200ft tall and 250-year-old oak tree using a lot of engineering and technical design.


The penthouse is in an elevated positions within Coombe Dingle and positioned to take in the best possible views. Master Bedroom - 21' 2" x 9' 9" (6.44m x 3m) A stunning large room with part vaulted ceilings and having two beautiful reproduction crittal style corner windows, made from aluminum and 5mm triple glazed glass. The windows were specially made as replicas to the original Art-Deco ones that the house had in 1936. The windows have hand carved emperador brown marble sills. This bedroom currently has a very high quality new! Superking size (American) deep tissue massage bed, with very high-quality latex mattresses (2x individually operated singles) they have electric remote-control head/upper body and leg/feet reclining options that are individually operated by each occupant of the bed. The bed is included in the sale. The flooring is teak mosaic and hardwood (ipe wood) with zone controlled digital underfloor heating. This is a lovely bedroom that has the option to become two bedrooms (installation of a central division required) The bedroom leads directly into 2x walk in wardrobe/dressing areas and 2x ensuite bathrooms. It means that you can enjoy a lovely simplistic and spacious room without any need for storage within the bedroom area itself.

Optional Bedroom 1 & 4 - 9” 9’ x 10” (3m x 3.1m) x 2

The option has been built into the Master Bedroom to create a divide in the center of the room so that it can become 2x bedrooms. The master bedroom has 2x entrance doors (one to the left of the bedroom and one to the right) each door leads to separate walk in wardrobe areas (His and Hers or Separate bedrooms). Each of these has its own individual ensuites (His and Hers) The wardrobe systems are tailor made by a manufacturer that installs these units into 5-7 star hotels around the world. They are finished in cherry wood and have features such as built in ironing board, digital safe, pir lighting, Blum motion (German) draw slides and pull-out full-length mirrors. In addition to these are into eaves storage cabinets again bespoke in design and made to order in cherry wood, these offer a considerable amount of additional storage.

Ensuite Bathrooms

His and Hers (choose) one in pure white jade crystal and the other in pure black polished granite

The white jade crystal stone slabs are some 75kg each and 20mm thick, they are laid throughout the walls and are in a beautiful slightly recessed/protruding profile design with large crystal slabs on the floor. The floors have lovely under foot digitally controlled electric heating. The sink is hand carved in solid white jade crystal (170kg) the toilet is wall hung with a hidden cistern and feature button of a clock and a world map. This ensuite has been done in a theme of a bygone forgotten time that has been brought back into the present, crafted into place by Italians who have been taught the skills from generations before them.

The black stone is completely seamless and polished smooth around the walls and the floors, it has been beautifully done by the same craftsmen. In comparison it is a completely smooth and polished finish, almost creating a solid entity of stone on the walls and the floor. The sink is again solid and hand carved but this time in the same matching black granite stone that has been polished smooth. Steam Showers

Each ensuite also has its own two person steam shower cubicle (A steam shower is a combination between a steam room and a shower within the same cubical) each of the steam showers has the functions of; 4kw steamer, radio, wireless controller to connect to your external music device (phone), hand shower, overhead monsoon drencher with chromotherapy mood lighting so that it rains coloured water, teak wood ceiling and shower grid so that you are not stood in the dirty water. The cubicle is 3 sides clear glass with a fabulous artists old world map designed into the control panel. The inspiration of the white jade crystal and black granite bathroom came from a combined inspiration of the effort of emperor, Shah Jahan and his construction of the white marble Taj Mahal the symbol of the love for his wife and the black one he is said to have planned, but never built. A man who preached equality and created policy to unite. The inspired combination is also that of Sheng Qi the term used in Feng Shui to express the positive and beneficial Chi energy yin (black) and yang (white) …Love and Fear.

The Master Bathroom - 9' 4" x 9' 0"(2.85m x 2.74m) into 4.4m vaulted ceiling

This is definitely the only one of its kind in the world; A blend of pure natural white jade crystal stone and polished granite (20mm thick – 75kg per tile) with backlit crystal mid border and backlit hand chipped ice jade crystal skirting that give the walls an amazing blend of texture. The main feature of this bathroom is a stunning 2m high1500kg (1.5t) hand carved natural rock waterfall over an oval, two person, luxury, hydro massage, bath tub that features:

· Deep tissue massage jets.

· Micro nano cleansing jets.

· Internal digitally controlled water heaters.

· Music system input/radio.

· Chromotherapy mood lighting.

· Auto clean function.

· Hand shower for hair/body washing.

This bathroom also has a 900 x 900 quadrant steam shower with the following features:

The ceiling is made from solid ipe wood and glass paneling, this is backlit with led mood lighting. The bathroom has many lighting options, you will always find the one, that will satisfy your mood.

The Drawing Room / Lounge - 17' 5" x 11' 4" (5.3m x 3.46m)

Vaulted Ipe wood and glass ceilings with 6x electrically operated Velux roof windows and a stunning feature pair of 16th century French chandeliers suspended over the void of the room. This room features a 2nd floor walk-on glass bridge that was constructed to celebrate both Bristol and the engineering achievements of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The Bridge spans through the vault of the room and adjoins the two 2nd floor mezzanine rooms above.

The drawing room has a lovely cranes piano, super luxurious electric reclining 3 person sofa, wall swivel arm mounted flat screen TV connected to a hidden Alienware pc, a beautiful 1920’s bookcase cabinet further compliments the room all items are offered to be included in the sale. 2nd Lounge/Dining Room/Optional Bedroom 3 - 10’ 7” x 11’ 4” (3.2m x 3.46m)

This room features stunning views and a triple set of bi-folding doors that open onto the balcony area. It has been designed to be an option of rooms. A bedroom that has jack and Jill access into the main bathroom, a dining room or as a second lounge. All options would have stunning views and all works are done with only a partitioning wall required to complete the creation of a separate room. The room is currently set up as an open plan Kitchen Bar/Massage Lounge with 2x state of the art deep tissue massage chairs, these give a full body massage that include an amazing reflexology foot massage. It’s currently has an open plan room surrounded in hand carved wood and a beautiful 2.4m x 1.3m x 20mm thick onyx stone slab, feature wall.

Whilst in this room, you’ll find further and deeper relaxation will be induced by the wonderful views outside via the opening bi-folding doors looking out across Bristol, the oak tree and garden area. The two massage chairs, will massage you for as long and as hard as you like, a quality of massage that you will be surprised technology can produce!... Very deep and relaxing foot, leg, back, arm and neck massages, they are multi programmable also having four 15-20 minute pre-set options, heated back, zero gravity option (will recline back and raise your feet so that you are led flat) music input, headphones, remote control even the most professional masseur would struggle to keep up with one of these. (The chairs can be included in the sale)

The room has solid onyx that sweeps around as skirting, dado and picture rails inlaid into the wood, these are all back lit with led lighting. At night this room will instantly take you thousands of miles away, creating an environment you’ve longed to be in and have, never experienced before. Viewing at night/when it is dark is highly recommended, your welcome to stay.

Kitchen - 13.2’ x 9’9” (4m x 3m) The Kitchen Area - This is open plan and vaulted with 4x Velux roof windows. Its open to both the massage lounge/dining/kitchen bar area and the drawing room/lounge. The room was deeply inspired from Colonial Cuba with lots of gorgeous dark Ipe wood from South America and contrasting lime green cabinetry. Everything is bespoke in its creation and made by a truly talented master craftsman, taking over a year to complete. The detailing is amazing and needs to be seen to be appreciated. The design reflects balance from the central and opposing mid spectrum colours of green and brown, this theme you’ll find throughout the Belmont Penthouse Apartment.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, dishwasher, oven, coffee machine, fridge freezer, drinks cabinet and bar. The area has a superb view via a large set of bi-folding doors that lead out onto a balcony area that adjoins the other balcony/room. A lovely table and chairs by the window offer alfresco dining and dining with a stunning view.

Balcony - 23’ x 3’6” (7m x 1.1m) Stainless steel railings with glass flooring and matching glass balustrading, extensive panoramic views across north Bristol as far as Clifton and Failand and overhanging chalet apex roof with Ipe wood inlay and lighting inset.

Mezzanine Bedroom 2 - 11'9" x 9'9" (3.58m x 3m) The Mezzanine Bedroom is suspended over the Massage lounge and Kitchen area – Cosy and rejuvenating, relax in a luxury super king sized bed looking out at views over Bristol and the surrounding area. The most pleasant time we have ever had!

The time spent in this amazing house is unforgettable! The stunning and luxury interior made us feel special. The amazing facilities had been better than a spa centre. We only visited Bristol for a shopping trip, but after seeing the penthouse we skipped the first day of shopping and enjoyed the amazing massaging chairs, sauna and many more. This penthouse is amazing! We will be defiantly going back.
