From Glasgow, travel south on the M77 which leads on to the A77 past Kilmarnock. Continue on A77, bypassing Ayr and turn left at the Belmont roundabout onto the A713 which is signposted "Dalmellington and Castle Douglas". Follow this road through Dalmellington, Carsphairn and St John's Town of Dalry towards Castle Douglas. Turn right over the bridge at the Loch Ken Hotel and follow the road into New Galloway.
