A detached family house occupying an elevated plot extending to around one third of an acre and offering superb views across the delightful Slad Valley.

The ground floor accommodation is bright and spacious with the sitting and dining rooms being open plan with a built-in display unit creating two separate areas and both rooms having patio doors to the garden whilst the sitting room also has an open fireplace in a feature stone wall. The kitchen/breakfast room has ample room for a table and chairs and a serving hatch opening to the dining room. On the first floor, there are four bedrooms, one of which is currently used as an office, along with a modern family bathroom and guest shower room. A ground floor utility room and cloakroom complete the accommodation.

The gardens are mainly to the front and sides and offer extensive lawns with mature shrub borders and a wildlife pond. Approached from a single track lane, there is generous parking to the front in addition to the double garage.

Slad is a delightful village clinging onto the edge of the Slad Valley to the North of Stroud. The village is famous for being the home (and final resting place) of author Laurie Lee who wrote Cider With Rosie based on his childhood in the village. Village life is focussed around the Parish Church and the Woolpack public house whilst nearby Painswick and Stroud offer a range of shopping, recreational and educational facilities. The Elliot (Swifts Hill) Nature Reserve offers views to Wales on a clear day and is criss-crossed by footpaths as well as being home to rare orchids and adders.

Slad is around 2 miles from Stroud with Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cirencester 7,11 and 14 miles respectively. The surrounding towns provide a comprehensive range of social, recreational and retail amenities to suit all tastes. Education options in the area are strong in both the private and state sectors with independent schools including Kings School, Wycliffe College, Cheltenham College, Cheltenham Ladies College and Dean Close whilst there are Grammar schools in Stroud, Gloucester and Cheltenham. Stroud station offers trains to London taking approx. 1 hour 35 minutes.
