West Coker is situated along the A30 with easy access to country lanes and public pathways providing dog walking facilities and includes a primary school, post office, butchers, restaurants, garage, hotel with spa facilities, bar andrestaurant and public houses, with the larger town of Yeovil 3 miles away. There are good road links to the A303 and M5 for access to both the West and East and on to London. Rail links can be found at Yeovil (5 miles) and Crewkerne (approximately 6 miles away). There are numerous reputable schools in the area. The Jurassic Coast & beaches are within 40 minutes drive.
The cottage is entered through a beautiful oak door into the hallway which then gives access to the Sitting Room, Bathroom and Kitchen/Dining Room. The Sitting Room is packed with period cottage charm with a beamed ceiling, two stone mullion windows to the front and a commanding stone fireplace which has been fitted with a wood burning stove. Next to the fireplace to the right is a storage cupboard with attractive latched door with the stairs rising to the first floor to the left of the fireplace. Oak flooring extends through the Sitting Room, Hallway and Kitchen. The Kitchen/Dining Room has been refitted with shaker style units under a roll edge worktop with inset glazed sink and drainer, built under oven with halogen hob above and integrated dishwasher. There are stone mullion windows to the front and side (overlooking the garden) with french doors to the garden and a further door to the Utility Room where there is a stone mullion window to the side and built in storage with plumbing for a washing machine. Finally, on the ground floor, the refitted bathroom has a stunning mosaic effect floor with beautiful travertine tiling to the walls and a suite comprising a panel enclosed bath with shower above, sink in a vanity unit and drawer storage below and low level WC.
On the first floor, the oak encased stairs lead to a modest landing with doors to both bedrooms. The master bedroom has two stone mullion windows to the front and a double mullion window to the side fitted with lovely wooden internal shutters. The current owners have further enhanced this room with built in wardrobes and a traditional chest of drawers which will remain with the property. Bedroom two has benefitted from some expert design to provide an array of built in storage together with a built in single bed which can double as a daybed/chaise if used as a study or hobby room.
The pretty cottage garden is accessed from the dining area french doors which leads to a stone laid patio area abutting raised flower beds and a rockery area where the metal cupboard housing the oil boiler is also sited. Lead up to the tp terrace of the garden where a brick paved seating area overlooks the garden at the rear of which is a garden shed and oil storage tank. The garden is enclosed in Ham stone walling with a doorway leading out to the lane.
