Mole Cottage is the perfect little Cotswold bolt hole, in this popular village, on Minchinhampton Common. Semi-detached, this ancient cottage is very attractive externally (random cotswold stone rubble under a cotswold stone tiled roof to the front) and faces south-south-west. The interior is very fresh and cheerful, the cottage having been comprehensively renovated within the last 4 years. Cosey and compact but with plenty of character, a garden gate leads to a gravelled patio area enclosed by a stone wall and the front door. This opens into a hallway with the sitting room and the kitchen on either side. The latter is modern 'shaker style' and leads via a passage with a utility area off, to the ground floor cloakroom. There is a double bedroom, airing cupboard and bathroom at first floor level, the latter having a shower over the bath. On the top floor there is another double bedroom with deep built-in wardobes and on the far side of the chimney breast, another room with space for a single bed - potential dressing room or study. The cottage has gas-fired central heating.

From our Minchinhampton Office, proceed up West End into Windmill Road and at the staggered junction on the Common continue over towards Amberley with the reservoir on your right. Drop down the hill and immediately past the Amberley Inn take the next right back into the village. Mole Cottage will be seen on the right shortly thereafter, on the corner as the lane bears sharp right up the hill towards a former chapel.


Mole Cottage is situated in Littleworth, close to the heart of Amberley and yards from Minchinhampton Common. Its outlook is across the Woodchester Valley. Amberley is known as being a very welcoming and inclusive community with its Church and popular village school at its heart, as well as two pubs serving good food within comfortable walking distance. The market towns of Minchinhampton and Nailsworth are both nearby, the latter having an especially good choice of independent retailers as well as supermarkets and convenience stores, while the former can provide all immediate necessities. Stroud (three miles away) offers greater choice with a Waitrose superstore among other major retailers and a famous Saturday Farmers Market. There are lovely walks in the vicinity with some 650 acres of common land on the door step maintained by the National Trust and challenging golf courses - two at Minchinhampton and one over the Common itself. London is normally under 2 hours by road or about 90 minutes from Stroud by train and Bristol, Bath or Cheltenham are within easy reach of here, as this is a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds.
