Description

A charming and characterful period house, situated on a no-through lane only 50 metres from forest with quiet country walks. Understood to date from the 18th century originally as two cottages and subsequently knocked through to create a wonderful and spacious detached cottage. The property is beautifully presented throughout and has numerous period features.
The accommodation includes an entrance hall with tiled terracotta flooring, door leading to a cloakroom and stable door to the rear garden. The well proportioned sitting room has a fireplace with inset wood burning stove, windows to the front elevation and exposed timbers. The dining room has a tiled terracotta floor and windows to the front and rear elevations. The well appointed fitted kitchen has hard wood worktops with solid wood cupboards and drawers under, a Belfast style sink, built-in dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and an range style cooker. The kitchen has a timber boarded floor, windows to the rear overlooking the garden and staircase leading to the first floor.
On the first floor the landing has a large storage cupboard and provides access to three bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom is an attractive double aspect room with exposed timbers, built-in wardrobe cupboard and door leading to extra storage provided within the eaves. The two further bedrooms have windows to the front elevation, one of which also has a built-in cupboard. And the other has a fabulous oak built in wardrobe and dressing table. The bathroom is fitted with a panelled bath, a large tiled shower cubicle, pedestal wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.

Outside

To the side of the property is a gravel driveway with a timber gate leading into the rear garden. A paved patio extends along the rear of the house and provides an attractive area for 'al fresco' dining.
Steps lead up to lawned gardens with herbaceous borders stocked with a variety of flowering shrubs, several trees, a brick former outhouse currently used as a woodshed, two garden timber sheds and a greenhouse. The garden backs onto meadows to the rear and offers a good degree of privacy and attractive views back towards the cottage.
