New Inn House is situated close to the centre of the popular and historic village of Kingswood and is thought to have originally served as a guesthouse to Kingswood Abbey (now demolished) before becoming an inn and later a private dwelling. To the rear of the house, there are two interconnecting small courtyards both with high walls covered in a variety of climbing plants which afford complete privacy and face south. There are ornamental water features in both courtyards.
